The regular convocation of Adams Chapter No.158 was held on Wednesday 23rd September, and proved to be a particularly memorable and uplifting evening for the Companions. The meeting combined the solemnity of an Exaltation with the pleasure of presenting two Grand Chapter Certificates, marking important milestones in the Masonic journeys of three of our members.
The Chapter was opened in full form by the Z, assisted by H and J, with the officers performing their duties with confidence and dignity.
The highlight of the evening was the Exaltation of Bro. Matthew Lowe, who had been properly prepared and declared eligible for admission into the Supreme Order of the Holy Royal Arch.
The ceremony was conducted with impressive harmony and precision. The Sojourners carried out their roles with clarity and warmth, guiding the candidate through the narrative of rebuilding the Temple and the discovery within the Vault. The symbolism and lessons of the Order were communicated with sincerity, ensuring the newly Exalted Companion received a meaningful and memorable experience.
Following the ceremony, Comp. Matthew Lowe was welcomed warmly by the Principals and the assembled Companions, who expressed their delight at seeing the Chapter strengthened by his admission.
The Chapter was further honoured by the presentation of two Grand Chapter Certificates to Comp. Dan Baker and Comp. John Moore.
The certificates were presented by Ex Comp. Malcolm Brooks OSM. PDepGSwdB, who offered thoughtful and encouraging remarks on the significance of the Royal Arch and the responsibilities that accompany full membership. Both Companions received their certificates with evident pride, marking another important step in their Masonic development.
Routine business was conducted efficiently, including reports from the Treasurer and Scribe E, updates on charity initiatives, and notices of forthcoming Provincial events. The Principals expressed their appreciation to all officers involved in the evening’s ceremonial work, noting the high standard achieved throughout.
The Chapter was closed in due form, after which the Companions retired to the Festive Board. The atmosphere was warm and convivial, with a toast offered to the newly Exalted Companion. Conversation flowed easily, and the evening concluded in the true spirit of Royal Arch fellowship.
This convocation was a resounding success, marked by excellent ritual, meaningful presentations, and a strong sense of unity among the Companions. The Exaltation of Comp. Matthew Lowe and the presentation of two Grand Chapter Certificates made the evening particularly special, reinforcing the vitality and harmony of Adams Chapter.
Adams Chapter would like to extend its gratitude to our visitors and guests for helping to make the convocation a memorable one.
