Festive Fun!

Yesterday Adams Lodge no 158 had their last meeting of the year and in keeping with tradition afterwards at the festive board we had our ladies and guests join us to celebrate Christmas. The Lodge meeting was short and brief with our DC W. Bro Roy Stickles being ribbed for not buying his guest W.Bro Peter Trower a drink, who also stood in as junior deacon at short notice, this was then countered by W. Bro Ken Perrin who reported he had been bought two drinks by the DC. With little Lodge business to conduct we closed the Lodge to join our ladies and non Masonic guests. In a break with tradition the meal was a carvery which everyone reported as delicious, many thanks to our in house chef Larry at the sheerness Masonic centre. Entertainment was provided by local island singer Megs Russon, and the Senior Warden Bro Aaron Janes provided “Christmas word bingo”, ” Table top picture quiz” “Christmas number 1s quiz” And a live Christmas quiz with prizes for all. To conclude the evening W. Bro Aaron Janes was peer pressured to sing a duet by the singer Megs Russon and they sang fairy tail of new York. The raffle raised £300 and will be donated to three local charities: Queenborough food bank, care for Christmas (a local charity providing meals for the homeless) and the sheerness Masonic children’s party. The best Christmas jumper was won by W. Bro Andy Carter’s wife Maxine who went all out and dressed as an elf.
