Adams Lodge held its 227th Installation Meeting, at the Masonic
Temple, St. Georges Avenue, Sheerness, on Saturday May 11th 2024 and what an absolutely fantastic day!
The Installing Master W. Bro William Mark Pennell, welcomed everyone including our guests and visitors and our good Friends from Lodge L’Aurore No 9, from Brielle Holland, on this the 50th Anniversary of the twinning with Adam’s Lodge No 158.
The Master Elect, Bro. Andrew John Carter, was presented to the W. Bro. Installing Master, by W. Bro Graham Smith the Senior Past Master of the Lodge present.
The Master Elect, Bro. Andrew John Carter, was proudly invested with his Master Apron, passed on to him from W. Bro Graham Smith and then installed into The Chair of King Solomon according to ancient custom by W. Bro. William Mark Pennell.
After the meeting closed the brethren retired to the middle bar of the club, and once glasses were charged DC W. Bro Roy Stickles proposed the toast to the new Worshipful Master, Wardens and the Rep, Senior Warden W. Bro Steve Charnock presented a bottle of Dockyard Gin to the visiting Dutch Brethren from Lodge L’Aurore No 9.
The brethren then dined on a sumptuous 5 course meal…..Pate and Melba Toast, Mango Sorbet, Chicken in White Wine Sauce with seasonal vegetables, Blackberry & Apple Pie and a Cheese board.
And to complete the 50th anniversary of the twinning of Adam’s Lodge and Loge L’Aurore, a wonderful celebration cake to remember this milestone had been made by the Charity Steward’s daughter Jo, which went down well with the coffee.
With fine speeches to our new Worshipful Master, the Rep and visitors, coupled with excellent responses from W. Bro Andy Carter, W. Bro Mick Smith and on behalf of the visitors W. Bro Antony Millet and Bro Roy Van der Staal the brethren journeyed home in the knowledge Adam’s Lodge was in safe hands and looking forward to the year ahead under the leadership of new Worshipful Master, W. Bro Andy Carter.
